Xenon™ - Overview
Vidiator is changing the way people use mobile. Consider its Xenon™ open platform for encoding and streaming multimedia content in multiple formats that can be delivered over wireless networks to a vast range of mobile devices.
Xenon™ is based on standards -compliant technologies supported by the majority of mobile handsets available today. Thus, Xenon™ enables you to deliver multimedia content to mobile users without requiring a client application on the mobile device.
Taking the differences between mobile and internet streaming into account, Xenon™ accepts source content in a wide range of media formats, converts it to meet the requirements for mobile delivery, and streams the content at the highest quality based on the available bandwidth of the wireless network as well as the characteristics of the end user’s mobile device.
With its open and easy-to-use APIs, Xenon™ allows you to integrate advanced features and functionalities with your back- end systems such as billing, authorization, content management, and provisioning. The APIs enable Xenon™ to serve multiple mobile operators and off-deck service providers who may have different types of back- end systems with various integration interfaces.
This openness also enables you to deploy customized applications to enrich your existing multimedia services. In several industry firsts, Xenon enables mobile handset users to create server-side music playlists with sub features ‘shuffle,’ ‘random,’ and ‘server-side playtime control, along with Fast Track Switching that allows subscribers to immediately navigate between music tracks in a playlist without any buffering or disconnection.
Likewise, the new Fast Channel Switching feature for Mobile On-Demand TV enables subscribers to switch between TV channels in seconds, just like navigating channels on regular HD TV. This is because Xenon maintains multiple music clips or live TV channels on the server, rather than establishing a new streaming channel.
Xenon even makes advert-sponsored content delivery seamless and easy to deliver.
